When staying at Penrhos, one of the true highlights is just a short drive away to Aberystwyth. Every few weeks, the town centre transforms into a bustling hub of local produce and artisan crafts for the fantastic Aberystwyth Farmers Market. It’s an experience that’s not to be missed!

What makes it so special?
A trip to the farmers market is an adventure for your senses. It’s a chance to connect directly with the passionate people who grow, bake, and create the food you eat. You can ask the cheesemaker about their process, learn from the baker what makes their sourdough so good, and discover where your Sunday roast comes from.
The stalls are overflowing with the freshest seasonal produce. Think vegetables picked just that morning, locally raised meat and poultry, creamy artisan cheeses, and freshly baked bread and cakes. You’ll also find a tempting array of specialty items like local honey, craft spirits, and unique handmade goods.
Planning Your Visit
The Aberystwyth Farmers Market is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month at its new location on the street by the Market Hall at the top of Great Darkgate Street. It’s a great way to spend a morning, soaking up the atmosphere and filling your basket with delicious treats.
It’s a short and scenic drive from Penrhos. Simply follow the A487 north towards Aberystwyth, and you'll be there in under 30 minutes. Parking is available nearby, making it an easy and convenient day trip.
So, next time you're with us on a Saturday, make a plan to visit the Aberystwyth Farmers Market. You’ll not only be supporting incredible local businesses, but you’ll also be taking a little piece of West Wales home with you!
