OF YOUR TIME TOGETHER

Mother's Day in Mid Wales

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, have you thought about what your mam - or another mother figure in your life - would appreciate on this wonderful day of the year? Maybe this year, it’s time to think outside of the box and gift her with something she’d truly remember forever and would really appreciate all the effort and thought you have put in.

At Penrhos Holiday Park, we not only offer a warm Welsh welcome to all of our visitors and guests, but we're also a destination where loved ones can enjoy their time together surrounded by blissful green countryside, an 18 hole championship golf course, an array of Welsh wildlife and – of course – our on-site restaurant, where every dish is lovingly prepared by our team of professional chefs.

However, if you feel that this Mother’s Day deserves to be one where you do something unique, why not head to our holiday park in West Wales and explore the surrounding area – whether there’s just the two of you for some much-needed one-to-one time or you come along with the whole family, there’s something for everyone!

Pottery at The Green Shed Looking for something creative to do? If pottery’s your thing, Pot Sian in Caerwedros is a must-visit for all ages. There’s a large selection of affordable pottery available – a great way to remember your day with a unique souvenir to treasure forever.

Visit The Castle Cardigan Castle dates from the 11th century and is the birthplace of the first National Eisteddfod. Explore the medieval walls and castle remains, visit the Georgian mansion built inside the castle and wander around the beautiful Grade 11 listed gardens. Once you’ve explored, relax with a coffee and sit on the terrace of the 1176 restaurant and admire the river views.

Butterfly Experience It may be difficult to comprehend at first but, yes, you can find exotic plants and butterflies in Ceredigion! At The Magic of Life Butterfly House, you’ll be greeted by a myriad of free-flying tropical butterflies as well as giant insects, caterpillars and marine life.

Horseback Adventures Rheidol Riding Centre offers fantastic trekking around the Rheidol Valley. All types of leisure riding and training are offered, from half-hour lead rein for small children on calm, quiet ponies to 1-2.5 hour treks for more competent and experienced riders. Safety helmets are provided free of charge and additional body protection can be hired.

Seaside Fun New Quay is a bustling seaside resort on the Cardigan Bay coast, with sandy beaches and rock pools galore! Sit on the harbour wall with a bag of chips and look out for the famous Cardigan Bay dolphins, or simply relax in one of the many cafes overlooking the harbour and watch the world go by.

There is so much to do in the surrounding area of our caravan park in West Wales – whatever you decide to do this Mother’s Day, head to us for a comforting meal and make the most of this special day!
